Femicide can be prevented. It is not an isolated event, but the culmination of an escalating process of violence, a “continuum of terror.” That is why public policies aimed at prevention, protection, and support play such a decisive role. In a country that ranks fifth in the world for the murder of women, proving that this violence can be prevented is urgent.

The Maria da Penha Patrol stands as proof of that possibility: since 2008, not a single woman under its protection has been lost. On the 20th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law, this film seeks to shed light on this model of humanized policing. The choice of observational cinema reflects that same commitment: a crew that does not interfere, preserving the freedom of action, expression, and the sovereignty of the women portrayed.
