Introduction
Itaú Cultural

Jader Rosa
Itaú Cultural‘s superintendent

É Tudo Verdade It’s All True – International Documentary Film Festival, one of the most prestigious events in Brazil’s audiovisual calendar, celebrates a new milestone: its 30th edition. It is an immense honor to be part of the festival’s history. The partnership with Itaú Cultural (IC) and the sponsorship of Itaú Bank, both of which have been in place for over a decade, are renewed for another year, driven by the conviction of the festival’s vital role in unveiling countless distinct realities and experiences through the language of documentary cinema.
Once again, we join the program through Itaú Cultural Play—a platform dedicated to Brazilian cinema—which will host an exclusive showcase from April 14 to 30, following the in-person portion of the festival. Visit itaucultural.play.com.br for free access.
With an ever expanding collection, the platform has over four hundred works in its catalog. Committed to promoting Brazil’s cultural diversity through its rich audiovisual output, Itaú Cultural Play offers films from every state in the country, showcasing a variety of formats, languages, themes, territories, and filmmakers. It provides a close look at contemporary and experimental productions that remain a vital part of the industry.
At itaucultural.org.br, audiences can explore a wealth of content on cinema, including interviews, podcasts, and videos. For further resources, visit Escola Fundação Itaú—offering free courses on art, culture, and education—and Enciclopédia Itaú Cultural—featuring entries and materials for research and study.

Sesc São Paulo

Luiz Deoclecio Massaro Galina
Sesc São Paulo
‘s director

What is truth (or reality) to common sense? Many have asked this question, and we know how contested the concept is. Regardless of one‘s perspective, a plurality of viewpoints and the presence of opposing ideas should prevail, broadening the debate. When it comes to human experience, the more sensory stimuli, the better for building autonomy.
Productions rooted in reality, such as documentaries, can add additional layers to these foundations, whether through journalistic works or subjective creations. They also provide an opportunity to bring to light often-silenced representations of the world. This role extends far beyond mere aesthetic enjoyment.
In a complex global context, the circulation of diverse knowledge must be ensured. In this spirit, the É Tudo Verdade / It‘s All True International Documentary Film Festival remains the leading event dedicated to nonfiction audiovisual production in South America. For its 30th edition, the festival is hosting a conference to discuss the genre. For Sesc, facilitating access to cultural resources and promoting reflections and dialogues that contribute to the exercise of citizenship are enduring commitments.

Spcine

Lyara Oliveira
Presidente da Spcine

Spcine is pleased to partner once again with the É Tudo Verdade / It‘s All True festival, reaffirming our commitment to promoting and disseminating documentary cinema. Recognized for its excellence and international prestige, the festival is one of Brazil‘s leading platforms for the genre and an Oscar-qualifying event, enabling award-winning films from its Brazilian and International Competitions to compete for an Oscar nomination the following year.
Beyond providing cultural support for the festival, Spcine helps expand public access and strengthen the city‘s documentary scene. This edition will feature seven titles at the Circuito Spcine Centro Cultural São Paulo, offering a free and accessible cinematic experience to São Paulo audiences.
In the field of education, Spcine remains dedicated to developing audiovisual professionals and nurturing new talent. This year, in partnership with É Tudo Verdade / It‘s All True, we will host a special public masterclass, creating opportunities for knowledge exchange and professional growth.
We celebrate another edition of É Tudo Verdade / It‘s All True and its role in sparking reflection and shaping new narratives. May this be another journey of discovery and inspiration for all lovers of documentary cinema.

Ministério da Cultura

Joelma Gonzaga
Secretária do Audiovisual do Ministério da Cultura

I hold a deep appreciation for this festival, which is integral to my love of cinema as a film professional, public manager, and cinephile. I‘ve witnessed packed and heartfelt screenings of films I‘ve produced, and I cherish these memories. As a film enthusiast, I‘ve been able to revel in the treasures of documentary cinema, which have found a space in Brazil thanks to this thoughtful and attentive curation. Today, as a public manager, I take great pride in seeing a space fostered by the Culture Incentive Law deliver an event to society that transcends the language of cinema, reaching the nation and for the nation as an expression of culture that looks at the world—and, above all, reflects on Brazil.
Over its thirty years of existence, É Tudo Verdade / It‘s All True has become the cherished photo album of a global documentary family, with roots spanning the world.
As Secretary of Audiovisual at the Ministry of Culture, I celebrate all the minds and hearts behind this festival. I hope that, year after year, this space for exchange and critical thought continues to serve as a beacon for inventive, contemporary documentary filmmaking that engages with the issues of our time. Thank you for everything, and so much more.
