On November 7th 2007, 18-year-old Pekka Eric-Auvinen shot eight people to death at a high school in Jokela, a peaceful town just north of Helsinki. Conversations with classmates, teachers, Pekka’s parents and Pekka’s own YouTube films lead into a haunting reconstruction of the events that prompted the tragedy and testify to a tormented, lonely and self-destructing boy, damaged by years of bullying and possibly autism. All of these elements combine to draw the context in which the conditions were developed for the tragedy, that is not solely limited to Jokela.
