É Tudo Verdade / It's All True

Artistic creations can highlight events and themes that might otherwise go unnoticed. The language of film in particular guides its viewers‘ senses so that each new film establishes a different perspective, even though they might start from the same argument. Documentaries radicalize this approach, granting reality the status of fundamental raw material in their narratives.

The observation of reality creates countless possibilities for creative work. In this case, documentary filmmakers have an array of elements at their disposal to produce representations of the world, often bringing to light ideas, contexts, and situations of notable public interest. As such, they can fulfill a social purpose in addition to aesthetic fruition.

It‘s All True festival is considered the main event dedicated to nonfictional filmmaking in South America. In its 29th edition, it consolidates the relevance and pertinence of the genre, presenting a wide-ranging panorama of national and international works. To Sesc, this partnership reaffirms shared goals of providing access to culture, besides encouraging reflection and dialogue that might contribute to the practice of civic spirit and collective development.
