BRAZILIAN COMPETITION JURY





ANA PETTA

Director, actress, and producer. She directed, with Helena Petta, Quando Falta o Ar (ETV Best Brazilian Documentary Award 2022). She co-directed the documentary Osvaldão (2015). She is an actress and creator of the TV series Unidade Básica (2016 and 2020), on Universal Channel. In theater, she was an actress for Cia. São Jorge de Variedades e da Cia. do Latão.





JOSÉ GERALDO COUTO

José Geraldo Couto is a journalist, translator, and film critic. He worked for more than twenty years at Folha de S.Paulo, and three at Set magazine. He published, among others, the books André Breton, Brasil: anos 60 and Futebol Brasileiro Hoje. He edits Blog do Cinema on the Moreira Salles Institute website. 





PAULO HENRIQUE FONTENELLE 

Graduated in cinema, radio, and journalism. He was born in Rio de Janeiro and worked for nineteen years at Canal Brasil, as editor and director of shows, documentaries, and music DVDs. He is the director of the documentaries Loki — Arnaldo Baptista (2009) and Cássia Eller (2015).

CAMILLA NIELSSON

Award-winning documentary filmmaker based in Copenhagen, Denmark, her work spans diverse topics, from the trilogy on children’s rights: Good Morning Afghanistan, Durga, and The Children of Darfur, to Mumbai Disconnected (2009). Her feature documentary President was shortlisted for an Oscar in 2021 and awarded at It’s All True.





PAWEL LOZINSKI

Polish director, cameraman, and producer, Lozinski is the author of more than twenty award-winning documentary films. He makes distinct and emotionally charged films about people of whom he draws intimate portraits. His films such as Birthplace and the latest, The Balcony Movie, awarded at It’s All True, venture into new thematic areas.





VIRNA MOLINA

Award-winning Argentine filmmaker, since 2002 she has co-directed and produced with her husband Ernesto Ardito films such as Raymundo, Corazón de Fabrica, Moreno, Alejandra, and El Futuro Es Nuestro. In 2021 she directed a documentary alone for the first time: Retratos del Futuro. In 2022 she made her second fiction film: La Bruja de Hitler, co-directed with Ardito.
