ITAÚ CULTURAL

For Itaú Cultural (IC), support for the 27th edition of the It’s All True festival, which includes the 19th International Documentary Conference, corroborates the organization’s history of contributions to Brazilian audiovisual production. Take Itaú Cultural Play, a free streaming platform devoted to a diverse catalogue of Brazilian cinema. This year, the platform will be streaming the It’s All True Brazilian Short Film Competition, among other shows.

The partnership between the festival and IC goes back years: from 2016 to 2020, the organization exhibited special curatorial picks of works from the event. In 2021, these selections migrated to Itaú Cultural Play, bringing the total number of films shown since 2016 to over seventy.

It should also be remembered that Itaú Cultural has long celebrated important names in Brazilian cinema through its Ocupação [Occupation] program, with the directors Eduardo Coutinho and Rogério Sganzerla featuring among the illustrious figures singled out for tribute. For exclusive content, see https://www.itaucultural.org.br/ocupacao/en/.

In addition to the above-mentioned exhibitions, the website itaucultural.org.br offers interviews, podcasts, and columns that dialogue with the world of cinema, while Rumos Itaú Cultural continues to fund work like the short film A Velhice Ilumina o Vento [Age Lights Up the Wind], by the collective Audiovisual Negro Quariterê.

And short films are what comprise the competitive show being promoted by the IC at the It’s All True festival—a joining of forces to foster creation and the democratization of access to the arts and culture.
