As well as supporting initiatives like It‘s All True International Documentary Film Festival and maintaining the cinemas of the Espaço Itaú de Cinema network in six Brazilian cities – Brasília, Curitiba, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, and São Paulo – Itaú sponsors through Itaú Cultural several activities aimed at mapping, encouraging and disseminating Brazilian film production.
Through its Rumos Itaú Cultural program, for example, Itaú Cultural enables the development of projects spearheaded by filmmakers from all over Brazil. And celebrated names of Brazilian cinema, like Rogério Sganzerla and Luiz Sergio Person, had their works honored at exhibitions and events from the Ocupação series. All Itaú Cultural’s programs and activities are free of charge.
Itaú Cultural also supports cinema-related events such as the Award-Winning Shorts Exhibition – including fiction films, documentaries and animations awarded at various festivals in Brazil and abroad – and the Cinema Encounters, which promotes debates and workshops with film industry professionals
It should be noted that part of the It´s All True program is also screened at the Itaú Cultural headquarter building located on Avenida Paulista in São Paulo. In this venue, festival-goers can check out the films that are part of the first edition of the Latin American Competition.
