A behind-the-scenes look at the life and routine of Brazil’s first and only female president, Dilma Rousseff, during the dramatic unfolding of the impeachment process that removed her from power. Filmed at the Oscar Niemeyer-designed Alvorada Palace from July to September 2016, the film accompanies the mounting tension and perplexity amongst the president’s inner circle, captured through meetings, endless phone calls, and the general murmur throughout the building, from the kitchen staff to the palace guard. At the same time, the documentary reveals Rousseff’s surprising personality, as she chats about politics, history, literature, and about herself.
