Liberdade e Luta (Liberty and Struggle) was a college trend born in 1976. Boosted by an internationalist clandestine organization, the group became famous by rekindling the word of order “down with the dictatorship”. Its members were famous for their irreverence and cultural openness. Between 1970 and 1980, Libelu became an adjective, synonymous with radicalism and, for adversaries, political inconsequence. Four decades later, where are the young Trotskyites who took to the streets against the generals, and what are their thoughts?
