In March 2010, Brazilian filmmaker Jorge Furtado wrote a post on his blog asking his readers if they had any news about the translator Primavera das Neves, whose name fascinated him. The search led him to make this documentary, whereby he is guided by the translator‘s childhood friends Eulalie Ligneul and the artist Anna Bella Geiger. The investigation pieced together the peculiar life of Primavera das Neves, who was also known as Vera Neves Pedroso, a Portuguese woman living in Brazil, married to an anti-Salazar rebel soldier, Manuel Pedroso Marques, and who left behind some widely praised translations of more than 80 books by authors such as Lewis Carroll, Jules Verne, Vladimir Nabokov, and Bioy Casares.
