Focusing on four cities of the Tucumán province in Argentina, director Jonathan Perel reassesses vestiges of the military dictatorship (1976-1983) in the region. In the mid-1970s, it sheltered guerrilla groups such as the People’s Revolutionary Army (ERP). That is why it became the target of a military operation aimed to eliminate it, ironically called “Operation Independence”. Following the repression, the local population was displaced to four cities, which received military names. Forty years later, the result can be seen.
