    Seus pais voltarão
In 1983, a group of 154 children aged 3 to 17 years old travelled alone to Montevideo from Europe. They were the children of political exiles from Uruguay, who, unable to return themselves, had sent their children to meet relatives and to see their home country. A crowd welcomed them with the song “Your Parents Will Come Back” (Tus Padres Volverán) and it turned out to be one of the episodes that paved the way for the redemocratization of Uruguay.
However, the trip had a different impact on the lives of the children, forced to rebuild an identity which had been forged away from their own roots. Six of them talk about their unusual childhood from a perspective of "children of exile".
